here are some of my favorite photos and insights from my current stint in copenhagen, denmark. i've been doing a fair share of exploring, mostly by bike, and will be traveling more outside of denmark as well. so keep posted as i will try to keep up as best i can. you'll have to excuse the photo quality in most cases -- i've been using my old digital camera with a broken zoom. regardless, click on the photos to blow them up. and enjoy!

frederiksberg park

in celebration of the danish holiday fastelavn, i took to the city with my friends billy and tom to see what we could find. we walked around downtown for a bit before busing out to the zoo to try out luck there. it was closed, but we stumbled upon a beautiful and expansive park right next door. it was full of sledding children, ducks, walking paths, and over 300 years of history according to wikipedia. for the record, the sledding was bar none the best i've ever seen.

fc copenhage vs. manchester city

fc copenhagen's season opener ended in a 2-2 draw thanks to a clutch goal in the last minute. it was snowing the entire game, making for an interesting stadium atmosphere as well as slippery driving conditions.

friday the 13th

after a long friday the 13th i caught a second wind on my bike ride home and decided to do some exploring. in short, i discovered some excellent places right by my apartment in copenhagen's norrebro neighborhood. here are some of my favorite photos from the adventure:

melted dumpster

i saw this dumpster the other day on my comute to school. it was actually in the bike lane, which was weird alone. is appears as though it caught on fire, melting a good portion of the plastic. there are apples, cans, and some glass bottles among other various crap.

a nice view out my window

the little mermaid

i took a bike ride out to see the little mermaid. apparently it's a big attraction, but isn't all that impressive. it was the cold (see the ice on the rocks?), windy, and cloudy but i still thought she was worth the trip. what i thought was especially cool was the background behind her. from left to right you can see 2 smoke stacks, a series of massive wind turbines, and then 3 more smoke stacks.
